I’ve seen lasers in operation and some of their finished products and I think how amazing it would be to have in your home shop for cutting custom shapes and such. This would be an amazing addition to my home shop. But at this time I think they are out of price range for most of us.

I'm a definite noob to this. If you get lucky you can get into this cheaper than you think. I found mine on Marketplace for $50. It's probably a 5 or 10 watter. No markings on the machine anywhere and, naturally, no manual. I got it home and finished hooking it up (they hadn't even hooked up the laser). The wood to build the cabinet it's in was $17.50, exhaust fan, power panel, etc was about another $25.00. Now that I have time I need to hop back on it. I also bought a 60 watt diode laser for $120 on closeout, with the driver board an extra $7.50. The laser fired up on a test run before getting into the wire loom. I am using Lightburn.

I’ve got a lot to learn before investing. It’s all new and I’m a bit lost around it. To old school I guess.
