CO₂ laser cutter suggestions for starting custom wood engraving business

I recently checked out a local shop that specializes in custom wood engravings using a CO₂ laser, and it got me so interested. I have a small garage and a few clients ready to go, so I'm keen to invest in a machine of that kind.

My main focus is on wood, and I've gone thru a ton of listings, particularly on eBay, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I'd really appreciate any recommendations, especially from those who've set theirs up for a small business.

I was in the same spot last year, small garage, first few clients lined up. I went with an OMTech 50W and it's been solid for wood. If you want plug-and-play with good support, xTool P2 or Glowforge are easier but pricier. For DIY types, OMTech gives you more control and value. Just check reviews and plan for venting

For a small wood engraving setup, a 40-60 watt CO2 laser is usually perfect, powerful enough for clean cuts but not too big for a garage. Popular brands like OMTech, Glowforge and Dremel get good reviews for small businesses. If you go used on ebay , just be careful to check the condition and seller reputation. Pick something with a work area that fits your projects and offers solid support.

ik zou geen tafelmodel laser gebruiken, die zijn toch echt wel beberkt in wat ze kunne, ter minste als je kies voor een co2 laser (buis laser)
een 50 watt, 30x50 met een ruida aan boord, zou ik eerder voor gaan, ik heb er een met heel veel plezier. op markplaats onder de naam cnc-router (https://www.marktplaats.nl/u/cnc-router/18406084/) hij zal ze niet altijd op markplaats hebben staan, maar als je hem een bericht stuurd, zal hij je te woord staan. Ook bij vervor heeft diverse laser staan... dus de moeite waard om verder te kijken en je keus te maken
