I was gonna go for the JTech 2.8W kit but now I'm eyeing one of those 6W diodes off eBay. I don't know, but it seems like a way better bang for the buck.

Thinking I could just pair it with JTech's adjustable driver and call it a day.

Anyone here tried a similar setup or got tips before I fry something? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you could pair it, but if you're asking this now, you're already halfway to smoking that diode lol, eBay 6W listings are sketchy, most aren't true 6W optical output, just inflated input specs and mismatching the driver without knowing current limits or voltage thresholds is a one way ticket to magic smoke.

A 6W diode is definitely a better bang, and using JTech's driver should be fine. Be careful though with wiring and cooling since more power means more heat ofcourse. Take it slow and doublecheck everything before firing it up to avoid frying anything

The big thing is heat management, 6W diodes get hot fast. The heatsink has to be good though, check the driver specs to handle the current. Other than that, it should work
