I'm working on a project using the Epilog Fusion Edge 24 and I'm trying to figure out how much material the laser removes when it cuts. I'm cutting some small, intricate parts out of 1/8" basswood plywood.
I've been doing my own research and read that the specs for the laser say it's a "50 or 60 watt... 10.6 micrometers" source, but I'm not sure if that 10.6 micrometers refer to the actual diameter of the laser beam, or is it the wavelength? If it's the wavelength, what would be the best way to figure out the actual beam diameter or kerf for this machine? I'm trying to get my design dimensions as precise as possible. I'd appreciate any insights!
