Recommendation for a beginner laser cutter

I have no experience in this, so I'd like some recommendations for a laser cutter fit for beginners. I know it's not going to be good at everything, but I want one that can allow me to make some small things for me, so I'm planning for personal use.
 
@nonessentialoil One of the most important things for a beginner is safety. you need to look for an enclosed laser cutter.
These machines have a hood that protects your eyes from the laser beam and a built in ventilation system to exhaust the smoke and fumes. It gives you a lot more peace of mind, especially when you're just starting out.
check out the xTool S1, it's a good example of an enclosed diode laser that's very popular with hobbyists
