Just starting out with Lasers

Hi everyone,

My name is Abdulaziz, I'm from Qatar in West Asia. I currently have a Cloudray MP-60 Fiber Laser (Galvo) that I recently purchased and am planning on purchasing a CO2 laser as well. I'm very much a novice and looking forward to learning and sharing experiences here.

A CO₂ laser uses a carbon dioxide gas mix to create an infrared beam ideal for cutting and engraving non-metals like wood, acrylic, leather, paper, and glass. Unlike fiber lasers, it's best for organic materials and not metals. It includes a laser tube, mirrors, lens, motion system, and usually needs water cooling and proper ventilation. Controlled by software like LightBurn, it's important to test speed and power settings for each material. Avoid cutting PVC or toxic plastics. With practice, CO₂ lasers can produce clean, detailed results for signs, crafts, and more.
